NETA

HMT maintains an active affiliation with the InterNational Electrical Testing Association (NETA) and has achieved Full Member Certification. By definition, a Full Member NETA company is a full service, third party, independent testing firm that certifies their technicians through uniform testing standards, maintains a calibration accuracy program, and employs a Licensed Professional Engineer to compile and review all engineering studies and report data. HMT employs NETA Certified Technicians, Electrical Project Engineers/Managers and Licensed Professional Engineers.

Why should I specify NETA?

The InterNational Electrical Testing Association (NETA) is an accredited standards developer for the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and defines the standards by which electrical equipment is deemed safe, functional and reliable. NETA is the leading source of specifications, procedures, testing and requirements for the commissioning of new equipment as well as the reliability and performance testing of existing equipment.

Why should I specify testing by a NETA Certified Technician?

NETA certifies both the company as well as the technician, which assures the customer that a qualified company and a highly skilled, competent electrical testing technician are performing their service requirements. All HMT technicians are certified in accordance with the ANSI/NETA ETT, standard for Certification of Electrical Testing Technicians and therefore meet the stringent educational, experience and overall technical proficiency requirements of the InterNational Electrical Testing Association.

Why should I use a NETA Full Member Testing Firm?

Independent Analysis is the best method of evaluating the long term usage, feasibility and reliability of your electrical power system equipment. Hiring a NETA Full Member Company assures the customer that:

  • The Certified Technician performing the work has broad based knowledge and is trained at the optimum proficiency level to inspect, test, maintain, calibrate and repair all types of electrical equipment within all classifications of industry.
  • NETA Certified Technicians have fulfilled the rigorous educational and experience requirements of the association.
  • A registered Professional Engineer is employed by the firm and will compile and review all engineering studies and reports.
  • All work is performed objectively, according to strict NETA guidelines and specifications, using properly calibrated instruments traceable to the National Institute of Science and Technology. (NIST)
